Question by Hanny: Can you give me some tips on taking photos without them looking like generic tourist type photo?
I am going on holiday, and I want to capture more intimate details of the city instead of your basic tourist type photos? What tips shall I undertake in order to achieve photos that look more professional that generic?
Thank You.
Thank you to everyone who has answered so far, it is extremely beneficial to me. If it does help, I am using a Nikon D40 not a point and shoot digital camera.

If you’re just taking photos as mementos of your trip, you should try to get as many of yourself posed against the local scenery, including some of the local people. You can buy books showing the scenery, taken by truly professional photographers. If you’re thinking of trying to get all artsy-fartsy with your own camera, you could wind up (later) with a bunch of photos you’ll be trying to remember why you took them.
What do you think? Answer below!
