Question by game buddee: What Portable Printer do you use for event photography?
I’m getting in to event photography. I’m also doing pet photography. So far the pet photography people trust me to pay me and then get the later. However, I want to change this style a bit. I want people to get their at the time of the session. Even if it’s only a 4×6 until they get the enlargements in the mail, etc.

If you conduct event photography and print on site, what do you use and how did you choose what you have? What about power / battery options? And most important.. cost of the friggin inks and paper?
P.S.

I have a Digital camera (nikon D40).. I also have a laptop, but don’t intend to utilize it on site, but I imagine will probably end up doing so.

My first thought, is digital camera and 4×6 compact printer.

Dye Sublimation is the way to go – NOT inkjet.

Kodak and others offer them. Check out the Kodak 8500 as a good place to start.
